About Us

In 1935 Severin Loretan Sr. and his wife Agnes bought the property, which at the time presented itself as a 2-storey building. Together they set up the house and little by little transformed it into a pension that they extended over the years. By 1975 they successfully transformed the family business into the Hotel “Zur Heilquelle”.

In the fall of 1975, Severan Loretan Jr. and his wife Anny took over the business that they have since run together with great dedication. Over the years they renovated and embellished the Hotel Heilquelle. In 1992 a full-scale renovation resulted in newly decorated rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The ground floor underwent a profound transformation in 2006, which resulted in a new welcoming restaurant, a new reception area, and a kitchen renovated to meet the most up-to-date standards.

Thomas, Eveline, Levin & Joshua LoretanThomas Loretan, the eldest son, works since 1999 as Head Chef in the business of his parents and his refined cuisine is known far and wide. Thomas and his wife Eveline have now been running the family business since 2003 and thereby represent the third generation of the Loretan family.

The fourth generation of the Loretan family is also being ensured their place in the family business: the six year old Levin and his four year old brother Joshua already perfectly understand how to liven up everyday life and entertain the guests.
